Abstract :
Turkish classical literature, which proved to be potent almost everywhere within the borders of the Ottoman Empire rule till the second half of the 18th Century, developed itself through, besides copyright works, both translation and explanatory works that were created in Arabic mostly on divine and academic works or in Persian that were literal and cultural. Although classical Turkish literature Works, whose frames were determined as a distinct science since the first years of Republic Era, were settled on a certain system via such means as classification, analysis, translation, they cannot be gathered under a single and absolute heading due to their own peculiarities and characteristics. Hasan Rızâyî’s poetic Gülistân paraphrase work Cûy-ı Rahmet is regarded as ‘explanatory, translation, commentary and poses a genuine explanatory characteristic as it was written through a distinct method. In this study, the methods and peculiarities that make the unique known poetic Gülistân work Cûy-ı Rahmet distinct have been analysed and the position of the work within the explanatory work tradition has been ascertained.
