Analysis of Income-Consumption Relationship Kocaeli University Students on The Basis of Faculties

Continuation of human physical, economic and cultural life is related to meeting unlimited needs. Meeting these unlimited needs is achieved through consumption, which is an economic activity Moreover, the biggest part in GDP belong to consumption expenditures. The willingness to meet the unlimited needs of individuals who want to increase the level of welfare will be changed depending on many factors. It is important to investigate the consumption-income relationship because the most important factor determining the consumption preference is income. In this study on the Consumption Behaviors of Kocaeli University Students,initially, theoretical information about the consumption was given and then the economic, statistical and econometric analyzes were carried out. The ultimate goal of this study is to investigate the socio-economic status of university students and to test the relationship between income and expenditure.In the direction of the information obtained by the face-to-face interview technique, firstly normal tables and cross tables were made and statistical significance levels were measured..Then, the most appropriate functional forms were found for each expenditure group, based on the share of expenditure groups in the budget.
