  • Abstract
    People have contacted different societies and individuals for various reasons from past to present. In particular, such contacts have increased with globalization. The rapid development and changes in communication, transportation and economy have increased communication between different societies and cultures. Individuals migrate to a different country from their own country for economic and educational purposes. Moreover, the practices of the EU within the scope of among student exchange programs de in recent years have significantly increased the inter-country exchange of students. In parallel with these developments, every year, an increasing number of international students are enrolled in universities in our country. International Students, especially if they adapt suddenly to a different culture from their own regions, experience great psychological and sociocultural changes and face various challenges such as working pressure, social cohesion and being new to the new environment. Knowing the cultural attitudes of foreign students will be an important reference in overcoming these challenges. . Knowing the cultural attitudes of foreign students will be an important reference in overcoming these challenges. However, there are not enough studies on culturing attitudes. In this study, using the East Asian Cultivation Scale (EAAM) developed by Barry (2001), the acculturation attitudes of foreign students studying at Selçuk, Necmettin Erbakan and Konya Technical University were examined. In the study based on the field research method; a total of 232 participants were interviewed face-to-face. As a result of the research, it was determined that the most preferred acculturation strategy of the participants was integration. In addition, assimilation has a significant positive relationship with integration. However, a negative significant correlation between marginalization and integration is noteworthy. Muslims have higher averages in terms of Integration and Christians in terms of their importance in their Marginalization strategy. Turkey assimilation of those who visited before, segregation and integration acculturation strategy-oriented values are higher than those who do not visit. In other words the student without first foreign university students who visited Turkey, still not paying their culture on the one hand, adopting the culture of the host society; at the same time, they maintain an attempt to maintain their original culture and interact with the host society. In addition, those who visit a different country other than Turkey, according to those who do not, not paying keep their own culture, to adopt the culture of the country where he or carry on their original culture, interacting with foreign countries, the society does not want too much.
