Parathyroid carcinoma is one of the rare causes ofprimary hyperparathyroidism. These tumors accountfor 0.4-1% of all cases of primary hyperparathyroid-ism and it is difficult to distinguish from benign dis-orders of parathyroid glands. Clinical examination revealed a mass in theright half of the thyroid gland and radiological investi-gation supported the diagnosis. She underwent sur-gery and thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, neck dis-section and strap muscle excision were performed. The pathological investigation revealed parathyroidcarcinoma. The patient was discharged uneventfulwith oral calcitriol and calcium replacement.
