Abstract :
Confidence is the key word related to success in implementation changes. In normal situations it is based in one ability and skills. The objective of this study is to investigate secondary school teachers confidence regarding the teaching of Mathematics in English in government schools in Southern Perak. The study would also like to indicate whether there are differences due to gender, school location and the teacher s experiences in teaching mathematics. A total of 199 secondary school mathematics teachers were procured as samples. Statistical analysis was based in the t-test.The findings showed there was no significant difference in the confidence level with regards to gender and school location. Nevertheless, there was a significant difference in their confidence due to experience in teaching mathematics. Thus, this study shows that Mathematics teachers who teach mathematics in English need to develop a high level of confidence so that the teaching of that subject can be accomplished speedily and effectively.
