Abstract :
In sheep and cattle, the hydatid cyst fluids, cyst germinal membranes, cyst in the daughter sacs and microscopically identified protoscolexes taken from the livers and lungs, were analysed, following homogenisation according to the routine procedures, for illustrating the profiles of protein and lipid bands by using SDS-PAGE and HPTLC methods. According to the results of the HPTLC analyses, in the membrane structures, all three lipid classes (Phospholipid, Free Fatty Acids, Cholesterol), as contributing to the formation of all the membranes in general, were observed mainly, while presence of the phospholipid only was detected in the liquids. Following the SDS-PAGE analyses, various numbers of antigens, ranging from the 8 to 205 kDa molecular sizes, were detected, as; in bovine, germinal membrane of liver 16, in the germinal membrane of lung 19, in the daughter sac germinal membrane of lung 15, in the daughter sac fluid of lung 17, in the sterile cyst fluid of lung 4, while in ovine, in the germinal membrane of lung 19, in the sterile cyst fluid of lung 5 and, finally in the fertile cyst fluid of lung 12 antigens.
