Abstract :
this study, the effects of different replacement of cement by metakaolin (MK) on compressive and flexural strength and different accelerated curing methods of mortars were investigated. For this purpose, MK replacement 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by weight of cement, 5 different mortar mixtures were designed. Mortar mixtures, aggregate/binder/water ratio by weight as 3/1/0.5 formed. Size of 0‐5 mm limestone used as fine aggregate in mortar mixtures. 40/40/160 mm‐sized prismatic specimens were prepared. The prepared samples 1, 3, 7, 28, 56, 90 and 180‐day compressive and flexural strengths were determined after the standard cure. In addition, samples of 35 ° C warm water cure, 80 ° C, boiling water cure, and autogenous cure were subjected to accelerated strength determined. Mortar containing 15% MK replacements showed maximum compressive and flexural strength. Based on the results obtained from this study, mortars produced with MK, at an early age was also the contribution of compressive and flexural strength. In addition, with accelerated curing processes containing only portland cement control mortar containing incorporating different proportions of metakaolin also gained early strength is understood as more effective.
