Abstract :
The Learn ing Organ isation is a co ncept first described by Peter Senge as an orga nisat ion where people continuously learn and enhance th eir capabilities to create. It consists of five main discipl ines: team learning, shared vision, mental mod els, person al mastery and systems thin king. These disciplin es are dynami c and int er act with each other. System th ink ing is th e corners tone of a tru e learning organisation and is describ ed as th e dis cipline use d to implem ent the disciplines. In a learn ing organisation, health care educat ion aims to educate its members with up to date knowledge to produce competent and safe personnel, who can promote qu ality in health care services . In add it ion, th er e are some educa tional con cepts and theoreti cal models, which are of relevan ce to th e learning organi sation, and can provide a framewor k for manage rial decision s. The sta ges required to achieve th e prin ciples of a learn ing organisation will be described in det ail. Mor eover, in a proper culture which suppo rts th e learning orga nisation, members continuously learn to improve th e environme nt and never remain passive recipient s.
