Abstract
In this issue of SQUMJ, Yadav et al. present a very interesting article about opportunistic infections and complications in children infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1.1 It is well known that both HIV- 1 and HIV-2 progressively destroy lymphocytes, rendering the patient susceptible to a variety of other infectious agents; these infections are known as opportunistic infections.
