Abstract :
It is already six years since the Anatolian Journal of Cardiology has become a part of an international initiative of scientific journals for promoting the young professionals in their scientific career. Annually, international Scientific Summer Schools (SSS) are organized as a common initiative of the Journal of Electrocardiology, Anatolian Journal of Cardiology and Croatian Medical Journal. The initiation of the SSSs was a reaction of these journals on the recognized need to improve the quality of research and of scientific manuscripts submitted to scientific journals. Originally, this initiative was intended for participants from countries where the English language is not the native/ first language and for young people interested in research who would like to gain more skills in doing research and academic writing then is provided within the frames of usual universities’ curricula. However, the 6-year experience has shown increasing interest from a broad spectrum of countries from all continents: Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa (1-5).
