KRITERIA PENYELIDIK MUSLIM BERASASKAN KRITERIA KELAYAKAN MUFTI

This article aims to identify and analyze the criteria that must be possesed by a Muslim researcher when conducting a research. The criteria will be reviewed through the conditions in becoming a mufti which have already been established by Islamic scholars. Mufti is a mujtahid who can derive Islamic laws from the resources within the rules of ijtihad. Researcher and mufti have one thing in common that is they analyzed the problem to be solved. The question is, what are the eligibility and requirements set by the scholars of Islam in becoming a mufti? Are the requirements suitable to be applied in determining the criteria of Muslim’s researchers? This article aims to answer these questions through a textual analysis of a number of classical and contemporary literatures. The article focuses on two key points. Firstly, to identify the eligibility requirements of a mufti in Islam. Second, to analyze the eligibility criteria for a mufti to be apply as a criterion of the Muslim’s researchers in conducting a research, especially research that related to Islam. The article found that there are four main requirements for the appointment of a mufti. Such conditions are Muslim, mukalaf, ‘adalah (fair) and mujtahid. The article also found that these conditions can beapplied to the researcher especially Muslim’s researchers and research related to Islam.
