Abstract
Mechanical ventilation is supporting or providing respiration to patients with or without insufficient respiration. Devices for this purpose are called mechanical ventilators. One of the important aspects of nursing care for those patients is, prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia, and if developed maintaining treatment and care. In prevention of ventilatorassociated pneumonia, oral care, nasal cavity cleaning, aspiration, positioning of patient are important nursing care practices. In this article, it’s intended to discuss the importance of positions on prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia development among patients undergoing mechanical ventilation support.
