Level of Patients’ Satisfaction With Nursing Care

Aim: This study aimed to determine how satisfied patients were with nursing care in terms of patients’ gender, age, educational status, and the inpatient clinics they were admitted. Material and Methods: A total of 85 patients participated in the study. Data was collected through a personal information form and Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Care Scale, consisting of 19 items, developed by Uzun (2003). Data analysis was carried out using mean, standard deviation, t-test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Mann-Whitney U Test. Results: Mean score of patients’ overall satisfaction with nursing care was 76.61±15.04. Whereas level of education and patient satisfaction were found to be significantly related, there was not a significant correlation between patient satisfaction and gender, age, or the clinic where treatment was administered.Conclusion: Findings of the study revealed that the patients’ level of satisfaction with nursing care provided was above average, and patients’ level of satisfaction tended to decrease as the level of education increased. There was no significant difference between male and female patients’ levels of satisfaction with nursing care.
