This article has been written with the aim of being Professor Eren Kum’s biography and work a model for young nurses. Professor Eren Kum, who made efforts on nursing education and professional practices, is one of the valuable leaders having a remarkable place in our nursing history. In this article, Professor Eren Kum’s short biography, professional education, working life and services in nursing, publications, working model and discipline were discussed. Besides, her activities in Turkish Nurses Association, her criticisms towards practice, her fundamental opinions and sayings regarding her were addressed. Dear Kum will always be remembered with her self-giving efforts on professionalisation of nursing, her leadership role and valuable personality.
