Abstract :
The Malaysian Smart School program had introduced the Smart School Mathematics courseware to 92 residential and daily schools by the Ministry of Education. The usability of this courseware was tested using an empirical user testing called Task Analysis Exploratory through observation using a video camera. In addition to the observation method, questionnaires were also used in the study. The usability problems and time were used as usability indicators. The perception ofusers on several main aspects ofthe courseware could also be used as one of the indicators. The usability indicators obtained in the study could be used as guidelines in evaluating and comparing the effectiveness of other mathematical courseware. In addition, they could also be employed in comparing the effectiveness of other evaluation techniquesapplied for the same courseware
