Aplikasi Teleperubatan di Pusat Perubatan Sekitar Lembah Kelang: Faktor Pendorong dan Implementasi

Telemedicine is one of the flagships in the national Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) agenda. This study aims at identifying the telemedicine application in medical centers around the Kelang Valley and exploring some motivating factors in the implementation. The study found that the telemedicine application level in medical centers around Kelang Valley is still low, i.e. only 16%. Medical centers which applied this technology are believed to be motivated by their strategic plan, information technology and networking capability,requirement from customers, consumers and top management as well as partnership with infrastsructure provider. The study formulated that medical centers should conduct a detailed preparation including a feasibility study and the implementation should not be carried out in hastle. To evaluate the real situation in a telemedicine operation, a pilot study needs to be conducted in some medical departments.
