Abstract :
A simple, rapid, efficient and environmental method for the preparation of phosphonate derivatives has been realized using the reaction of aminohydroxy acethophenone, acetylenic compound, malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate and trialkyl phosphites or triaryl phosphites in water as the solvent at room temperature. The ability of some synthesized compounds to scavenge the DPPH radical was measured and the results proved this observation. Moreover, the antimicrobial activity of some synthesized compounds proved by employing the disk diffusion test on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The obtained results of disk diffusion test showed that compound 5 prevented the bacterial growth.
