Abstract :
Thepurposeofthisstudywastoinvestigatetheroleofim-mediateanddelayedimplicitcorrectivefeedbackinlanguagelearners’structureaccuracyinwriting.Forthispurpose,90IranianEnglishasaforeignlanguage(EFL)learnerswereassignedintothreegroups:imme-diateimplicitfeedback,delayedimplicitfeedback,andacontrolcondi-tionwithnofeedback.Whereasintheimmediatefeedbackcondition,theteacherprovidedlearnerswithrecastsontheirerrorsimmediatelyaftertheirwritingtaskcompletion,inthedelayedcondition,learnersre-ceivedthecorrectivefeedbacktwodaysaftertheirtaskcompletion.Re-sultsindicatedthattheimmediatefeedbackwassignificantlybetter thanthedelayedfeedbackandcontrolconditionintheimmediatepost-test.However,inthedelayedpost-test,theimmediatefeedbackwasnotdifferentfromthedelayedcondition,yetitwasstillsuperiortothecon-trolgroup.Implicationsofthesefindingsarediscussedandsuggestiontoextendthisareaofinquiryarepresented.
