Abstract :
The aim of health information systems was to contribute to a high-quality, efficient patient care [1]. High-quality patient care is required careful documentation of each patient s medical development, health services offered and the patient s recovery status. Therefore, medical secretaries are expected computer and information systems to use effectively. Research was realized in 2-30 April 2009 8 public and 2 private in total 10 hospitals the province of Sakarya. 192 medical secretaries joined the research. From the perspective of medical secretaries, the lowest ranked benefit of health information system is “the planning of patient care”, and the highest ranked benefit of health information system is “easier access to information”. However, 78.95% of the medical secretaries express important of information systems for their department. Medical secretaries surveyed believe the importance of information systems and are trained in this regard. Particularly, they are sufficed to enough by themselves on computer equipment and office programs and hospital information systems. In addition, they have used hospital information systems in different levels.
