ANKARA’DA BİR KAMU HASTANESİNDE ÇALIŞAN YÖNETİCİLERİN STRATEJİK DÜŞÜNME VE KARAR VERME BECERİLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Strategic management has become a concept being pursued and taken into notice by organizations because of rapid development and change. Health sector, especially the health institutions need strategic management activities in order to succeed in and to get ready for the future and this brings up the need for health institutions’ managers who are able to think strategically and be able to conduct strategic planning activities. Strategic management and planning activities are seen as functions of high level managers. This study has been conducted to assess strategic thinking and decision making skills of managers working at a public hospital in Ankara and to determine factors affecting skill levels. The most important variable affecting strategic thinking and decision making skills of managers who have agreed to participate in the research has been reported as the length of time working as a manager.
