AYDIN SAĞLIK HİZMETLERİ MESLEK YÜKSEKOKULU ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN KÜRESEL İKLİM DEĞİŞİKLİĞİ KONUSUNDAKİ BİLGİ DÜZEYLERİ

The aim of this, knowledge about global climate changing of undergraduate students of Adnan Menderes University were investigated. 181 students joined for questionnaire. The 134 of the students were female and 47of them were male.Their mean age was 20,48±2,44 (Min:18,Max:40). The majority of the students (75%) had knowledge about global climate changing.They stated that their source of knowledge we visual pres. (78%). The 66% of the students had knowledge that fosil fuels increase CO2 levels and effects climate, on the other hand, 73,5% of the students think ozone layer destruction cause global climate change. The majority of the students think that probable results of climate change (floods, tornadoes, drought) will effect millions of the people. They also think that some of the species will disappear and big part of the world will turn in to waste land. The 90% of the students had favor for using clean energy sources such as. The majority of the students were opposite for fosil fuel usage and in favor for public transportation, recycling and water and electricity conservation. 64% of the students had no idea weather Turkey sould sign the Kyoto Treaty or not. Findings shoowed that students has information about global climate change and actions to stop. On the other hand they don’t have action to stop global climate change.Our investigation showed that students don’t have enough information for environmental law issues. We think that, the increase of education about environmental risks and actions for global climate change will be beneficial.
