Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the validity and reliability in Turkey of the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) Health Care Satisfaction Hematology / Oncology Module for parents with children diagnosed with cancer. The study was made with the 210 mother of children that were diagnosed with cancer at the hematology-oncology polyclincs of Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty of Istanbul University and Marmara University hospitals in Istanbul. The study is descriptive, and were made during the period 2007-2008. The PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Hematology/Oncology Module Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients were found to be 0.974 for in the total scale. The scale was found to be at a significantly high level of reliability (0.60≤ ± α 0.80). It was concluded at the end of the study that the PedsQL Health Care Satisfaction Hematology/Oncology Module was a valid and reliable tool for assessing the satisfaction of parents of Turkish children, diagnosed with cancer.
