Abstract :
n oxo- and chloro-bridged dimeric molybdenum(III) ethylenediamine complex, [Mo2((mo)-0)((mo)-Cl)(en)4](S2O6)Cl. 3H2O (1) was synthesized from the mononuclear complex [MoCl3(thf)3], and was characterized structurally and spectroscopically for the first time. The Mo(l)-Mo(2) distance in 1 is 2.495(1) A, and the formal bond order may be three ((omicrono(2)pi(2)delta(2)). The trans influence of (mo)-O on the Mo-N bond lengths proved to be greater than that of (mo)-CL
