Activist Practices of the Alternative Media: Bianet’s Journalism and Activism at the Centre of “Abortion” Discussions

Main interest of this study is based on the social communication medium of the publicdiscussions which starts within the legal regulations about banning abortion. In thefollowing parts of the text; protests, campaigns, the relation with the counter-politicaldiscourse sphere of activists and power s/hegemony s discourse sphere, intersectionand disintegration spots of these two medium and understanding the structure ofmindset is aimed. In this study, abortion discussions are researched on the newsmedium of BiA (Independent Communication Network). The transformation of anindependent media sphere to an activist media sphere as the campaigner of My Body,My Decision and the opportunities and impossibilities about the counter-politicalactions/practices of an alternative media sphere s communication medium andactivists practices are focused.
