Democrat Party’s Usage of Radio as an Instrument of Its Power: Early Broadcasting of 1957 Election Results

The aim of this research is to show the usage of the radio by the government as its instrument of power with the example of early broadcasting of 1957 election results which was very important for the ruling Democrat Party (DP). The DP’s policies, and the traces of what they do is found in the Turkish Parliament’s Records Journal. Literature review method is used in order to conduct this research. The importance of this subject is to reveal the attitude of the ruling party that disregards the law by using radio as its own instrument.
