  • Abstract
Poverty is not something new for a country. Poverty had seen as one problem that capable to give negative impact for a nation. Malaysia also can’t escape from handling this poverty matter. Malaysia is a Muslim country where majority of its population isMuslim. Therefore, if viewed from the perspective of Islam, poverty is considered as a social disease (Hairi Abdullah, 1984). According to scholars, one way to overcome poverty is the implementation of the community development program. One of the community development programs in Malaysia is AZAM Tani program. This study involves the AZAM Tani program participants in Seberang Perai area. The census method was used to collect samples from the fieldwork and 54 samples were collected. The results show that AZAM Tani Program can help to increase knowledge and through the knowledge, the participants can improve their skills. This can be seen in the results of correlation Spearman which show the relevance of knowledge with the implementation program (r = 0.496, p 0.05) as well as the relation of knowledge with skills (r = 0.612, p 0.05). These two relationships are positive and have a significant relationship.
