Information Sector in the Process of Globalization on the Effects of Turkey and the European Union Countries Economies

Evolution of information and communication technology has affected, economic, social, political and cultural structure and led to emergence of a new social structure. National economies have entered an era of globalization which goes beyond national borders by technological developments. Information and communication technologies became cheaper since technological developments triggered increase in competition. The products and services reached a larger audience by the development of information and communication technologies. Technologies of information society are capable of influencing the economy entirely, thus the investment in information and communications technologies will be effectual on the whole economy.In this respect, the study first deals with process of the EU information policy and development of information and communication technologies in EU countries. Then economic effects of IT sector on the EU countries are discussed.
