Abstract :
In this study, the monthly mean river flow trends at 2 stations in the upper part of Porsuk Creek Basin are examined for the period 1970-2011. The aim of this study is to determine trends in the river flow using the Şen trend method. The trend analysis results are as follows: (i) Decreases of the river flow are noticeable in all months except for May and June at Porsuk Barajı Çıkış station in the study area. (ii) An increasing trend is revealed in the medium (12-25 m³/s) and extreme high values ( 25 m³/s) in May at Porsuk Barajı Çıkış station. (iii) An increasing trend is detected in the extreme high values ( 18 m³/s) in June at Porsuk Barajı Çıkış station. The findings indicate a hydrological drought in the upper part of Porsuk Creek Basin. The results are beneficial for understanding the local river flow characteristics in the upper part of Porsuk Creek Basin and in the entire Porsuk Creek Basin.
