LIMITS IN THE SOCIOLOGY OF LITERATURE

This study puts forward the problems in the sociology of literature with its negations and aims to show limits in the sociology of literature as a discipline. For this purpose the study enters into a discussion about the approaches in the sociology of literature and evaluates its limits with the formalism movement in arts. It goes on to discuss the criticisms about the sociology of literature together with 19th century realism. In conclusion it emphasizes that the sociology of literature needs new literary analysis depending on changes in literature.
