Abstract :
Colon cancer is one of the most common types of cancer both in the world and in our country. The diagnosis and treatment of cancer affect the individual in terms of physical, psychological and sociocultural aspects. Especially, applications such as opening a stoma during the colon cancer treatment process are an additional source of stres for the individual and complicate the adaptation process of not only the individual but also the family. Therefore, theneed of patients and their families for healthcare professionals is increasing more. In this process, planning the nursing care with a holistic approach to the individual and his family, benefiting from the nursing theory and care models at the planning stage will increase the quality of the care and facilitate the adaptation process. In this case report, a patient with colon cancer was examined according to the Neuman Systems Model and nursing care was investigated and discussed.
