Abstract :
Aim: This research was conducted to determine the clinical decision-making perceptions of nursing students and the factors that affect their clinical decision-making perception. Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted with 175 students who participated in research in second, third and fourth grades of nursing students. Study was conducted between January 01 - January 20, 2019 with 111 students accepted to participate in the research. Data were collected using demographic information form and Clinical Decision Making Scale Nursing. Number, percentage calculations, mean measures, Kruskal Wallis Test, Mann-Whitney U test were used to evaluate of data. Results: The total score average of the students Clinical Decision Making Scale in Nursing is (128.68 ± 10.60, Min: 97.00, Max: 167.00, Score range: 40-200). It was determined that demographic characteristics such as age, gender, grade level, number of siblings did not affect students clinical decision making perceptions (p 0.05). The Clinical Decision Making Scale in Nursing mean that there was a significant difference (p 0.05) between the students grade levels and the class size levels of the students, as the grade level increased, the Clinical Decision Scale in Nursing subscale mean scores increased and the difference between them was not significant (p 0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded that the students perceptions of clinical decision making were moderate. During nursing education, the students clinical decision-making perceptions should be increased, and the quality of patient care should be increased.
