Abstract :
Every individual has different characteristics and the most important element of these differences is intelligence. Despite many research on intelligence, researchers have not made any definite conclusion about its definition. However, efforts to measure the intelligence have been continuing for a long time. Decisions of vital importance for individuals are made by applying intelligence scales every year in Turkey as in many countries. In addition to the weakness of the psychometric properties of some intelligence tests, the practitioners competence and lack of competence may be an ethically important problem. This article will address the intelligence assessment process, which has an important role in the psychological evaluation process. In this context, intelligence scales in Turkey, which have developed newly and used for many years, will be discussed within the framework of ethical problems occurred during mental assessment process.
