Abstract
The article discusses the outcomes of a liquid-phase aerobic oxidation study conducted on tetradecane and undecane, with the inclusion of chromium(III) and nickel(II) salts derived from natural petroleum acids that were pretreated using ultrasound. The research reveals that the induction period for n-alkane oxidation can be shortened by pretreating the catalyst with ultrasound. This effect is particularly noticeable with the chromium(III) catalyst, where ultrasonic pretreatment led to a two-fold reduction in reaction time and a substantial increase in product yield. Our findings suggest that employing ultrasonic pretreatment on catalysts holds significant potential for enhancing their performance in industrially important processes involving the oxidation of organic compounds.
