Abstract
Highly functionalized, unsymmetrical disulfides (presumed metabolites of a bioactive sulfide) were synthesized by a baseinduced, crossed reaction of two different symmetrical disulfides. The reaction was also applied to the preparation of a vitamin B 1 derivative, Prosultiamine.
