Abstract :
Lithium acetate-catalyzed Mannich-type reaction between trimethylsilyl enolates and aldimines proceeded smoothly in dry or even in a water-containing DMF to afford the corresponding (beta)-amino carbonyl compounds in good to high yields under mild conditions.
