Semi-bounded restrictions of Dirac type operators and the unique continuation property

A paper by Weinstein asks whether Lagrangeʹs equations for a variational problem on an integrable Lie algebroid can be obtained by a limiting process from a related problem on the corresponding Lie groupoid. We provide an intrinsic method of doing this when the Lagrangian is quadratic on the fibres of the algebroid
