Vladimir A. Fock (Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Birth of Academician V.A. Fock)

A brief review is given of Fockʹs scientific activity and its significance for modern physics. A more detailed account is presented for the contribution made by V.A. Fock to the development of quantum field theory and the theory of gravitation.
