Abstract :
A procedure is described for deriving the ʹanomalousʹ soliton Asolutions of the fifth-order Kaup-Kupershmidt (KK) equation; these Asolutions are compared with the ʹregularʹ solitons of the companion ASawada-Kotera (SK) equation. The first few solitons of the KK equation Aare constructed explicitly and, in a novel departure from Hirotaʹs Abilinear transform, an iteration method is presented for obtaining multisoliton solutions of any order.
