The behaviour of reinforced concrete elements subject to bending and twisting moments

This paper describes tests carried out on fourteen lʹ6m x l.6m x 150mm reinforced concrete slab element loaded with uniform bending moments applied about cither or both orthogonal axes and with or without uni form twisting moments using a purpose-built test rig. Results are given up to and beyond the maximum load for the tests. The results obtained from the tests have been compared with an incremental non-linear analysis which is also described. The results have also been conpared with the Wood-Armer equations and it is shown Chat these can be unconservative if the twisting moment is significant.
