Abstract :
This paper presents a method to study the free vibration of a rotating truncated circular layered conical shell with simply-supported boundary conditions. Based on the Love first approximation theory and Galerkin procedure, and taking into account the influences of centrifugal and Coriolis accelerations and the effects of initial hoop tension, the frequency characteristics are obtained for various geometric properties, vibrational modes and different rotating speeds. The effect of cone angle on frequency characteristics is also discussed in details. Comparisons with published results available in the literature indicate that the present method is reliable and applicable
