Abstract :
Two coding methods for arbitrarily shaped objects in still
images using the lapped orthogonal transform (LOT) are proposed. The
LOT is applied to the projection onto convex sets (POCS) based algorithm
and the shape adaptive-discrete cosine transform (SA-DCT) with the even
number of basis vectors. Simulation results show improved reconstruction
quality compared with the conventional methods.
