Abstract
We are having breakthroughs in materials, genomics, information systems and high-speed electronics. These technologies will require engineers to work at a minute level such as atomic or molecular. Currently, we use technologies such as transient finite element analysis, system control and simulation dynamic mass modelling, three-dimensional design and assembly. In the next 10 years, we will be solving problems and doing research in biosensors, biomaterials, bioelectronics, inert materials, magnetic materials, and fluorescent materials, which will require the expertise of multi-disciplinary teams of scientists and engineers. Specifics on these areas are presented to enhance our professionʹs involvement in the future. The engineering environment in the future is also discussed.
