Abstract :
Research is being conducted to develop a procedure to predict the concentration of winds resulting from local geological features, and to make an evaluation of the designed wind loading on overhead transmission lines. Using a computer simulation, a method in which wind speed and direction in an established area and time can be analyzed was created. By setting up several 3-dimensional lattices, the wind speed of each lattice point is calculated by an equation of motion which takes into account eddy viscosity. The comparison between the observation and simulation results at a mean wind speed of about 30 m/s points out that the results of the simulation were fairly accurate. Further testing will be conducted in stronger winds and different geographical areas to verify the precision of the analysis method
