Abstract :
A benchmark system for studying the sinusoidal
pulse-width-modulated distribution-static synchronous compensator
(D-STATCOM) is proposed. A simple multifunction
controller is provided to offer dc bus voltage control, power
factor correction, and ac voltage control. Simulation results are
presented and compared to experimental results obtained from a
10-kVA laboratory D-STATCOM. Excellent agreement between
simulation and experimental results is obtained, validating the
simulation output.
