Applications of chaos and fractals in process systems engineering

Applications of chaos and fractals in engineering in general and in chemical processes in particular are presented. Beginning with the historical perspective and a review of the state-of-the-art literature, various developments in the theory of chaos and fractals in a wide area of physical sciences and engineering with particular emphasis on applications in chemical engineering are discussed and presented. The final focus is on the application techniques for analysis and control of chaos in chemical processes and in process systems engineering. Application examples are given.
