Abstract :
A new discrete ordinates nodal method is developed for the twodimensional transport equation in hexagonal geometry. We solve the discrete ordinates equation analytically after the source term is projected and represented in high-order polynomials. This source projection analytic nodal discrete ordinates method (SPANDOM) is applied to two four-group fast reactor benchmark problems. Compared with the TWOHEX code, the numerical results indicate that the present method accurately predicts not only effective multiplication factor but also groupwise flux distributions
