A Contribution to the Problem of Runaway Electrons

After giving a short sketch of the status of the field we treat two models of runaway in some detail. One is a Fokker-Planck equation, the other a kinetic equation with compact kernel. Both are l-d models; both deal with the marginal case of (l/v) relaxation of diffusion coefficient or reaction-rate. We also give a description - in l-d - of the Gaussian shape of the runaway pulse following an initial burst
