Abstract
A nodal method for solving the one-dimensional time-dependent
multigroup diffusion equation is presented. The kinetics equations are reduced
to a system of first order differential equations and solution of the differential
equations provides the coefficients of the flux and precursor density expansions
for the given time steps. The nodal method used in reducing the kinetics
equations is based upon the least squares minimization. The method is tested
to determine the flux for some benchmark problems
