A stochastic eigenvalue problem

In this paper, we consider the monoenergetic eigenvalue problem in rod geometry, for a Markovian stochastic mixture of two immiscible materials. We obtain an explicit solution, in the small fluctuation and small correlation length limit, for the ensemble-averaged eigenvalue. This result shows that, in this limit, the effect of stochasticity is to incrcease the ensemble-averaged reativity over that of the nonstochastic reference reator
