The extinction problem in a super-critical sphere of fissile material

We consider the probability of the extinction of the neutron population when one neutron is injected into a super-critical fissile sphere. The formalism developed by Pal and Bell is used, the equations arising for the extinction probability are solved numerically and the angular dependence of this quantity is discussed in some detail. Some results for an infinitely reflected super-critical sphere are also examined.
